You don't need the GitHub app for MFA. You can use any TOTP app - or a hardware token. Or both.
How to disable the url hijack:
1. Open the appinfo of the app 2. Klick the submenu for open by default 3. Disable the setting that opens the app by default.
Today I learned GitHub has an android app
Yeah I basically use it only for 2fa. Used to use FastHub, not sure if that's still going, but I liked it more. But at the end of the day, for, eg, review, web lets me see more, so unless that change is minor (and mostly new files), web is easier.
