Interesting timing ... 6 western Irani provinces had flood warnings 4 days ago. https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/land-use-biodiversity...
Remember that draught severely diminishes the soil's ability to absorb water.
So if it starts to rain it can be that instead of the water being absorbed, it just moves to a lower point.
I wonder if the aquifer capacity is depleted, does the now surplus rainfall cause surface flooding?
Won’t help all that much.
