If you eat foie gras even after knowing how it is produced, you are not my friend.
It's pure animal cruelty. No surprise that Chinese pick it up. As a culture, they don't seem to care about animal welfare at all.
It's also a part of historical tradition, part of being a European. And, all meat production is cruelty. That's life.
